There's no end in sight right now as far as my winter is concerned. Everyone else in the good world is enjoying the transition from Spring into Summer and I'm locked into the slush for some time to come. Business is good but life is taking something of a back seat.

Hit me up. Hope you're all well.

New Equipment, S'Fun.

I rented a ringflash for a product shoot today. It puts these crazy halos around things. Hell, I think I look like I have a shadow afro in this photo!

Tonight's session was pretty fun. I rode Grant with Stewart and Roll. Seriously, Roll has the sickest style. It's all speed and power. I get pumped up watching that guy ride. We worked on switch handed steams for a little while and then I got into a really nice fire hydrant to funky chicken. I'm having so much fun riding. It's the shit.

Rock On.

Machinations.

That's Paul, he's the machine.

Coach Joe and I headed down to Salem today to ride with the BBB and I have to say that it was well, well, well worth the drive. I like the vibes down there. It's been a while since I rode with Jeremy and I was really excited about showing him the stuff I've learned but it really didn't work out that way. I had a hard time with Hang-5's and it was really starting to piss me off. I did get some good squeakers and fire hydrant to squeaker. Oh yeah! I got a whiplash too, on film even!

Anyway, the contest is coming up next weekend.

Good times all around.

Things Happen.

Joe, Scott, Roll, Stewart & I hit up Grant & OMSI today for a nice session. The sun came out and I was sweating like a 10 cent whore on nickel night. Hey, just the usual!

I've been learning some tricks. Coach and I put on my back brakes but I don't think I've used them for much more than lawnmowers yet. After seeing Diversion 5 I've been super motivated to try some back wheel tricks. I've been trying to pop up the rope-a-roni's but it's not happening yet.

Anyway, we rode a lot this week. Roll is super fun to ride with, he has good positive energy and a super smooth style. The Coach & Stewart got me pumped up as well. Hell, I landed a few more Whiplashes, a couple of solid rebates and some flail boomerangs! Hang 5's feel really, really good now and I was playing around with trying to get into steamrollers from them. That's a real commitment and my knuckles will pay the price for FAILURE.

Here's Scott: Get stoked!

The Sum

Fuck.

That about sums it up.

I got to ride yesterday and it was pretty fun. Joe did some really long joe-glides and even got one to swing back into a rebate. It was pretty damn sweet. Jeff was there talking about all kinds of things. The guy has good stories and a lot of energy. He even got me rolling some tomahawks if just rudimentary. Hang-5's are becoming no problem. I popped into every one I tried and rolled them until I wanted to stop. That's my gague. I want to do things until I feel like stopping, not because I lost my balance or got scared.

Oh well, back to my computer. Fuck.

Here's Johnny!

I'm going insane.

I've been staring at my computer screen for days and days.

I took on too big a project and now I'm in far over my head. Argh!

The reality is that I'll make it through this and everything will be killer again.

Sometimes I wish I was a Luddite. You know, Amish with no knowledge of technology.

All I want to do right now is ride my bike, join the gym, lose some weight and hang with my girl.

How are you guys?

Enduring the bad, getting good.

This has been a great weekend. Joe and I met Justin & Devon in Beaverton and rode the courts for a little while until I started to melt like wax and headed up to the covered concrete area. I couldn't get into it at first. I rode 3 days this week with the Coach and I was pretty beat up. One of the nice things about flatland are the variety of things available to completely suck at doing. Hang-5's weren't happening. Steamrollers weren't happenning. Fuck, even squeakers weren't happening, at all.

The Coach decided that the concrete spot sucked so we went down to Conestoga. I dig the parking lot there. They have these white lines spaced 50' apart and I set myself on a mission to hang-5 that distance come hell or high water. I went for it "BBB Style" and just kept trying and trying and trying to make it. Seriously, I have a 25' distance barrier to my hang-5's. Once I get to that distance it's over...

Paul showed up and busted out his new half-hiker barflip. It was fucking sweet! It's pretty amazing to see what he can do without brakes.

Justin saw my frustration and demanded a whiplash. 20 tries later I ate complete shit and then pulled it twice. Trick on command, bitches!

Justin rolled out and we headed to McMenamins for dinner. Paul's girl trouble was the topic of conversation but he's dealing with it realistically. I hope the other end of that deal thinks it through too. It's sad to see people hurting and it's even harder when you're that one causing the heartache. I know how it feels from both sides.

After dinner we headed off to Grant to roll around. Joe and I were hurtin' pups at that point but we shook it off and started to feel the flow. I hit a hang-5 the whole width of a tennis court! That's a personal record, for sure. Some day I'll be able to carve those things like Taku... Man, I'd love to turbine one of those into a backwards steamroller.

Paul and I had a steam to funky-chicken contest. I know he was just humoring me by taking so long to land it but it was pretty fun anyway. I get so pumped up on sessioning tricks with people. The Coach kept rolling through with the one handed steams. Ol'Joe likes to rooooooll his tricks. I'm sure he dreams of laser finished concrete surfaces that lead into the horizon.

Hey Jeremy, this photo snippet is for you:
